The Qatar National Library, designed by OMA, is an iconic building with striking architectural forms situated in Education City, the new university district of Doha, which hosts a number of campuses, research institutes and important cultural organizations. Characterized by innovative solutions, the complex is divided into three wings, each of which hosts a different type of library, for a total collection of over one million books. There are also spaces for the preservation of special collections, a library for children and adolescents, a 120-seat auditorium, facilities for individual and group study, multimedia stations, a writing center, and spaces accessorized with a wide variety of creative tools. The interior environment, completely open and flooded with natural light from the ample facades in undulating glass, is defined by the layout of library stacks, which delineate and organize the various areas according to function.
