British Telecom. Amsterdam 2008
Located along Amsterdam’s south ring road, the office complex that hosts the new headquarters of British Telecom Benelux is characterized by the lively development of its facades. The building consists of an articulated composition of volumes that fit together in an apparently random manner, with elegant and dynamic formal rigor, in which the lightness of the glazed facades and the orderly patterns of the ribbon windows are visually dominating elements. The solutions adopted for organizing the work environments, based on the use of a flexible, modular furnishing system, reiterate lively facades and permit the various functional requirements of the work areas to be interpreted with innovative open-space configurations. A similar approach is used to furnish the closed offices and meeting rooms with refined simplicity and attention to detail.
