where

Palazzo della Ragione, Padua

Zaha Hadid was the guest of honor at the fourth edition of the “Barbara Cappochin” International Architecture Biennial.

The venue for her accompanying personal show, Palazzo della Ragione, the medieval town hall of Padua, made for a fascinating design challenge, considering the historical nature of the building. The striking theatrical setting of the exhibition made an excellent backdrop for the numerous and highly innovative projects of one of the world's leading deconstructivist architects. Iranian by birth and a naturalized UK citizen after moving to London in the late 70s, Zaha Hadid was the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize, in 2004. The interpreter of a visionary aesthetic, Hadid experiments with new spatial concepts that intensify the existing urban skyline with unprecedented expressive forms, working in architecture and in every design field, from the urban scale to product design, from interiors to furnishings, from buildings to cities and back again. UniFor supported the project as a technical sponsor.
