Personal exhibition of Zaha Hadid
Palazzo della Ragione, Padua
6 October 2009 - 25 May 2010
Zaha Hadid guest of honour at the fourth edition of the
Biennial International Prize for Architecture
“ Barbara Cappochin”.
For Zaha Hadid, the historic environment of the building that hosted the show, Palazzo della Ragione, presented a fascinating design challenge in itself.
The exhibition provided visitors with a chance to discover the numerous and innovative projects of one of the world's leading representatives of deconstructivism in architecture.
Iranian by birth and naturalised in London in the late 70s, Zaha Hadid was the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize, in 2004.
Projects from around the world were on display, including a revolutionary plan for the MAXXI in Rome, the recently inaugurated National Museum of the 21st Century Arts.
Zaha Hadid experiments with new spatial concepts that enrich existing urban fabrics, in her quest for a visionary aesthetic that touches on every field of design, from city planning to interiors, furnishings and products.
