The MAMbo, the new Bologna Museum of Modern Art, is part of a wider urban regeneration program involving the creation of the district of the Manifattura delle Arti, or Manufacture of the Arts, a citadel of culture with a strong inclination towards experimentation, research and innovation. Built in a former industrial bakery, the complex embraces the contemporary interpretation of museums as multifunctional event spaces, not just places for the exhibition and promotion of art. Approximately half of the building’s 9.500 square meters are devoted to exhibition areas, with the rest are dedicated to depots, archives and other key services for the museum’s diversified activities, including a book, newspapers and periodicals library, a bookshop, a restaurant and coffee shop, a conference hall, a large public terrace and a learning centre. The elegant furnishings, partly custom-made, are designed to set off the overall design and layout of the building, focusing on formal simplicity, comfort and environmental quality.

Standard products: Naòs System Desks, study seats, library and meeting tables. Custom products: Book shelving units (Molteni&C), conference hall, reception and library furnishings. Reception. Offices. Conference hall.
